Wizards of the Coast revealed details about the collaboration between Magic: The Gathering and the Spider-Man universe today in an exclusive article with IGN. The partnership will bring iconic characters from the Spider-Man setting into the Magic multiverse, offering players and fans the opportunity to play with the famous friendly neighborhood cards at both competitive and casual tables.

Scheduled for release on September 26, 2025, Marvel’s Spider-Man will be the second fully draftable and Standard-legal expansion in the Universes Beyond series, following the Final Fantasy set. Unlike previous collaborations, it will not include preconstructed Commander decks.

These cards won't be Standard-legal and were designed with Commander in mind. Wizards announced on its official website that starting with Spider-Man, Magic will use the same frame and oval security stamp in Universes Beyond sets as the in-universe expansions, retiring the triangular model characteristic of the series

Another new feature in Magic x Spider-Man is the return of Welcome Decks, introductory decks designed to teach how to play Magic. Each Welcome Deck has two 30-card "mini-decks", one themed around the deck's color and the other randomized from the other colors.
